Made in our studio

Inside our studio in downtown Montevideo, patterns are developed, fabrics are printed, pieces are cut, and garments are sewn in small batches by people who truly care about what they make.

Young designers work alongside experienced seamstresses, combining creativity, technique, and craftsmanship in every step of the process.

Vailara was born here, where the Atlantic Ocean meets endless grasslands, quiet beaches, and slow-paced cities filled with art, cafés, and old architecture.

Our founder & creative director

Gimena Burgos

She is a textile designer with more than ten years of experience. Her connection to textiles began in childhood, inspired by her aunt’s artisanal craftsmanship, and by the age of twelve she was already making her own garments.

As the founder of Burgos Textile — a studio dedicated to developing textile projects for other clothing brands, agencies and companies — she combines her background in design, garment construction, and printmaking with an innovative and thoughtful approach to creation.

Through Vailara, Gimena brings that journey into a deeply personal fashion project rooted in creativity, authenticity, and intentional design. Every print in the collection is an original creation developed by her, giving each garment a strong sense of identity, emotion, and story.
